We did Patrick’s newborn portraits (and Ronan and Michele’s wedding pics before that), so it was crazy how quickly it was time to do his 1st birthday pics, too! We started off with playtime in his room, where we did pics with his blocks and cute little teddy bear. Then after that we walked down the street to the beach for a few shots of the whole family!
State Parks always make for amazing backdrops for engagement pictures and weddings, and Jack London State park is one of our favorites in the Sonoma Valley area! It has an great variety of hiking nature trails, rustic old barns, vineyard settings and the most amazing pig pen ever. We first met Morgan and Scott at Katelyn and Kevin’s wedding in Napa. Morgan was one of Katelyn’s bridesmaids and Scott was one of Kevin’s ushers, so when they contacted us telling us they were engaged and wanted us to shoot their wedding in Sonoma at Relais du Soleil we were thrilled! Morgan and Scott had the perfect outfits for the session! I especially loved the way her white dress looked in the meadow in front of the silos.
Desirae and Chris chose to have their wedding ceremony at Shasta Dam, and it was such an epic location to have a wedding! We started of the day at Desirae’s house for getting ready pics. I absolutely loved the faux flower boquets that Desirae found on Etsy. They were made of bark and paper and pearls and the colors looked so beautiful with Desirae’s dress. On the way up to the dam, we stopped at the McConnell foundation for separate pics of both the bridesmaids and groomsmen. The oak trees and golden grass there are so beautiful in the sunlight. We love how the greens and yellows and browns mix to make such a beautiful backdrop! Desirae and Chris set up their ceremony at the dam so it looked out over the lake, and after the ceremony we walked out onto to the dam itself for some of their formal shots together and with their wedding party. Their reception took place at the Elk’s Lodge in Redding, which has huge windows that face out toward the Sacramento River. They decorated the reception with old books and little bird cages along with more of those fantastic Etsy flowers. The Diestelhorst Bridge is right next to the Elk’s Lodge, so part way through the reception we snuck over there for a few minutes to do sunset pics that turned out amazing!

Fort Point and Crissy Field are two of our absolute favorite places to shoot in San Francisco! The fort itself has so many cool tunnels and staircases that have really interesting light, and the view directly under the Golden Gate Bridge is unlike anything else we’ve ever shot. Since the fort and Crissy field are right next to each other, we took advantage of both for Megan and Amir’s engagement pictures. Crissy Field has one of the best views for shooting the bridge earlier in the day, and it was the perfect place to do some pics with Megan and Amir’s little dogs Chewie and Louie!
